Project Description

The Role of Amgen’s Drug Substance Technologies (DST) Organization is to deliver robust processes and technologies for the manufacture of Drug Substance from early to late stage development, while partnering with our R&D, Clinical and Commercial colleagues. The Drug Substance Technologies and Engineering group is a part of DST and is principally concerned with translating developmental processes into commercial manufacturing reality through scientific expertise, engineering innovation and deployment of manufacturing technologies.

This group, located at our Cambridge, Massachusetts site, is looking for an Undergraduate student interested in a 6 month Co-op placement. The Co-op will learn the principles of biologics manufacturing with a focus on novel filtration techniques, single use technologies, and process scale-up. The Co-op will have an opportunity to interact with scientists and engineers implementing new manufacturing technologies for multiple product modalities. Relocation in the form of a transportation allowance will be provided for eligible candidates.

Amgen is committed to unlocking the potential of biology for patients suffering from serious illnesses by discovering, developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative human therapeutics. Amgen's medicines treat serious illnesses. We have a presence in more than 75 countries worldwide and have reached millions of people in the fight against cancer, kidney disease, rheumatoid arthritis, bone disease and other serious illnesses. Our medicines typically address diseases for which the number of effective treatment options is limited, or they are medicines that provide a viable option to what is otherwise available.
