Amgen is in search of a Treasury Associate, who will assist the Treasury Director in the procurement and administration of the corporation’s property and casualty insurance programs. The Associate will work out of the Amgen Capability Center located in Tampa, Florida. Our new Tampa Capability Center provides essential services that enable us to better pursue this mission. This state-of-the art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies.

Primary responsibilities will include:
Provides subject matter expertise to internal and external parties with respect to several insurance coverages including; casualty/general property, liability, cyber, workers compensation, aviation and product liability and executive risk insurance coverages
Carries out collection of underwriting exposure information, underwriter submission preparation, broker communication, option analysis, recommendation preparation, coverage binding procedures, and documentation preparation for insurance policy renewals
Provides oversight of third party services including loss prevention engineering, claim administration, and brokerage services
Manages timely payment of all costs associated with insurance and risk financing programs
Partners with Law to manage Confidentiality Agreements with third parties
Manages process for issuing “Certificates of Insurance” related to our global clinical trial programs
Manages process for issuing automobile ID cards for Amgen’s fleet
Manages surety bond program
Coordinates audits of insurance programs including review and reconciliation of insurance company additional or return premium calculations
Provides technical guidance to internal clients regarding risk evaluation, risk transfer opportunities, contract insurance provisions, etcetera
Collaborates with Corporate Insurance staff members and cross-functional subject matter experts in the management of insurance programs and delivery of insurance services to the organization
5% domestic travel is possible

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
OR
Associate’s degree and 4 years of business or legal experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of business or legal experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will possess experience in a large global corporate insurance department, large international account brokerage, or related insurance services, OR be a business generalist/legal professional who demonstrates the willingness and ability to learn a complex technical area
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
