ISR is responsible for contacting veterinary customers via the telephone to
initiate sales relationships and promote, position, and sell the companion
animal line of products. The ISR is also responsible for achieving the annual
sales and business objectives within his/her region by implementation and
monitoring of the Region Tactical Plans, ensuring alignment with Territories, Regional
and National Business unit objectives.

ISR is responsible for understanding the customer needs and communicating
accurate and complete product information through on-going phone calls on
targeted companion animal veterinarians and coordination of call activities
with the regional team with the goal of increasing sales and market penetration
in the region. This also includes
conducting “electronic” CE meetings, attending product and sales training, and
possibly participating in conferences and conventions.

ISR optimizes business potential in the territory through effective analysis,
planning, implementation and organization of work. The ISR manages territory
data through CRM and / or other relevant territory management tools. There are
other administrative duties which include weekly reports and requests from

ISR will complete his/her tasks in a manner fully consistent with Merck's

standards and all laws and regulations.

Performance is
measured on sales goal achievement vs. goal, as well as targeted promotions and
other performance standards consistent with operating objectives.


- Animal Health Technician degree
OR Bachelor degree, Science degree, Veterinarian degree
- Pharmaceutical sales OR telemarketing
experience in the Animal Health Industry
- Experience in Small Animal
Veterinary Practice as Animal Health technician or Veterinarian
- Thorough understanding of the
Animal Health Industry and Veterinary Practice operation
- Solid knowledge of products,
disease, competition of Animal Health Industry
- Proficiency in office technology
and related software
- Strong oral communication skills
- Presentation and facilitation
- Negotiation skills
- Language: Bilingual (French and
English) for Eastern Region
