The Environmental Monitoring (EM) Technician is responsible for providing routine and investigational environmental monitoring support of classified manufacturing, filling, and support areas for pharmaceutical operations.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:
  1. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all health, safety, and environmental Corporate and Site goals.
  2. Support production operations by means of EM sampling of classified manufacturing, filling, and support areas and operations personnel.
  3. Support execution of qualification activities and special projects as necessary.
  4. Successfully interact with and support EM laboratory processes.
  5. Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and maintain constant inspection-readiness.
  6. Ensure integrity of data collected is maintained with accurate and complete documentation.
  7. Participate in process streamlining and continuous performance improvement.

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
  1. Prior experience in environmental monitoring
  2. Strong understanding of cGMPs, regulatory standards/requirements for Environmental Monitoring.
  3. Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work in a variety of manufacturing facilities/support environments
  5. Must be capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and physically demanding environment with extended periods of standing/walking.
  6. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and be able to pass, push, and pull to execute aspects of job duty.
  7. Must be able to repeatedly gown in building dedicated uniform and achieve aseptic gowning certification, if deemed necessary
  8. Must be able to wear necessary PPE – safety glasses/goggles, steel toe shoes, gloves, respirator
  9. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products and Outlook
  10. Experience in manufacturing or production environments preferred.
  11. Knowledge of / familiarity with parenteral production environments, operations
  • 1st shift – 8 hour position
  • EM Technician position involves repetitive motions.
  • Overtime may be required. Weekend overtime routinely occurs.
  • Post offer testing exam may be required.
  • Known allergens in production areas.
  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
