Responsible for managing team associated with laboratory analyses within the Fort Dodge Global Operations (FD GO) organization.
  • Provide technical direction, motivation, and leadership to ensure the success of all associates on the team.
  • Establish communication throughout the organization to study management to relay execution of timelines and to facilitate scheduling of key study activities.
  • Collaborates and coordinates within FD GO organization to process clinical samples and to execute required analyses within study timelines.
  • Work independently following instruction or scientific protocols.
  • Secure technical resources necessary to conduct clinical and/or laboratory studies, support the evaluation of data, consult outcomes with relevant study managers, and make recommendations for subsequent studies to advance projects.
  • Ensure and promote adherence to appropriate HSE, QA, AW, Finance, Regulatory, and other Elanco policies and requirements.
  • Participate in scheduling of activities.
  • Actively engage in resource management tools and internal process optimization to increase overall FD GO efficiencies.
  • Develop capacity and increase efficiencies through appropriate recruitment and staff training.
  • Identify and support ongoing technical skill enhancement for all staff.

  • BS degree
  • 5 years laboratory experience.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams.
  • MS degree with minimum 4 years relevant experience
  • PhD with minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Management experience
  • Laboratory animal, biologic or pharmaceutical product development experience
  • More than 6 years leadership experience preferred. Leading employees, projects, leaders and businesses/functions. Responsible for $2-4 million budget, varying capital budget cost of goods and inventory stocks.
