The Undergrad Coop will work closely with a multidisciplinary team at AML 6 multiproduct facility.The purpose of this project is to implement various equipment downtime reduction initiatives that were the result of a detail equipment assessment from previous years. This task will include initiatives that will expose the candidate to several learning experiences like project management, learning and understanding of the functionality of new in process testing equipment and the use of innovation to generate new equipment monitoring toolsThe project will also include working with the sustainability activities of AML6 Scrap Avoidance and Value Engineering (SAVE) program; this is Amgen s network first organized process equipment repair program with accounted scrap avoidance benefits. The Undergrad-COOP will apply the skills learned at the university in the pharmaceutical industry and learn new ones from hands on experience of work assignment. Key skills include but are not limited to: communication, planning, organization, problem solving, team-working, data monitoring etc. This role will work and/or support real projects under supervision and guidance of highly skilled professionals that will help student to gain practical experience in the pharmaceutical field.Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Evaluation of the historical and current data on production campaign for all equipment downtime eventsProvide support to clean utilities monitoring process.Serve as the project manager for several equipment modificationsProvide support on the Scrap Avoidance and Value Engineering (SAVE) process streamlineImplement innovation initiatives for equipment monitoringDevelop training for In-Process testing manufacturing equipmentBasic Qualifications At least 3.20 GPA (General)Be in the process of earning a Bachelor s degree in Mechanical or Chemical EngineeringHave completed at least 3 year of college educationBe enrolled in universityAll individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:Have not graduated yetBe pursuing an applicable degree or course of study Preferred Qualifications Be enroll in school under a Coop programStrong technical writing skillsProject ManagementGood interpersonal skillsAble to work with minimum supervisionWell OrganizedMeet milestones and deliver high quality resultsEnthusiastic about learning new concepts and work processesProficient in the following software: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power PointAmgen is an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
