Project Description

The Undergrad Coop will work closely with a multidisciplinary team in Process Development Drug Product facility.

The purpose of this project is to increase the AML-14 Syringe Filling Line capacity by reducing the Filling Isolator Decontamination Cycle Time. The student will need to use statistical tools to measure and analyze existing data to provide recommendations. .

The Undergrad-COOP will apply the skills learned at the university in the pharmaceutical industry and learn new ones from hands on experience of work assignment. Key skills include but are not limited to: communication, planning, organization, problem solving, team-working, data monitoring etc. This role will work and/or support real projects under supervision and guidance of highly skilled professionals that will help student to gain practical experience in the pharmaceutical field.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Prepare project justification
Define the problem statement
Measure actual process
Analyze new or existing data using statistical tools
Coordination of meetings with interdepartmental groups to agree on path forward
Write Technical Reports to summarize the data evaluation and provide recommendations

Basic Qualifications
At least 3.20 GPA (General)
Be in the process of earning a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Life Science
Have completed at least 3 year of college education
Be enrolled in university

All individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

Have not graduated yet
Be pursuing an applicable degree or course of study

Preferred Qualifications
Bew enroll in school under a Coop program
Strong technical writing skills
Project Management
Good interpersonal skills
Able to work with minimum supervision
Well Organized
Meet milestones and deliver high quality results
Enthusiastic about learning new concepts and work processes
Proficient in the following software: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point
