Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor of our Cell Culture department for our Biologics Testing Solutions site.



Summary of Position:
  •   Supervise the daily laboratory activities and laboratory scheduling of the personnel within the cell culture department. Ensure optimum group performance.
  •   Train technical personnel in general cell culture laboratory skills, reinforce regulatory concepts (cGMP) and cell culture laboratory techniques and aseptic practice.
  •   Responsible for personnel management activities such as scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews.
  •   Recommend short-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans. 
  • Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements and to departmental policies, practices and procedures (SOPs, safety procedures and biosafety protocols).

Qualifications
The following are minimum requirements related to the Supervisor, Cell Culture position.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) or equivalent in biology or related discipline.
  • Experience: 2 – 4 years related experience in mammalian and insect cell culturing.
    •   An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for specific education and experience listed above.
    •   Demonstrated leadership skills required. Working knowledge of CGMPs or regulatory affairs pertaining to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries required.
  • Certification/Licensure: None.
