Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager - Indirect Categories - Canada
Partner with stakeholders in sourcing goods and or services having complied with Amgen’s sourcing policies and processes.
Ensures the maximum value proposition of cost of the goods/services procured.
Appropriately manage total cost of goods/services at minimum risk to the business
Partner with the stakeholders and Global Category Manager in the development of appropriate sourcing strategies.
Manage the sourcing process from selection of Vendors through to contract.
Manage and maintains preferred supplier arrangements.
Local, ad-hoc sourcing:
Opportunity identification: identify local improvement opportunities with respect to management of Purchase demand, Supply base and Total Cost on a local level
Requirements definition: identify and define specific stakeholder requirements;
Tendering: define evaluation/selection criteria, define and manage RFI and RFP processes on the basis of the local sourcing strategy, derived from the category sourcing strategy;
Supplier Selection: evaluate and negotiate proposals, ensure and validate selection of the best supplier;
Supplier Contracting: complete and implement the contract in accordance with legal standards and local Sourcing policies and guidelines;
Optimally manage Strategic Suppliers to drive innovation and partnerships
Supply base analysis: monitor, analyze and report Affiliate’s actual spend, trends, forecasts and Supplier base data;
Strategy development: participate in Global category strategy development: participate in Global Sourcing teams
Infrastructure development: support Strategic Sourcing infrastructure development and integration.
Purchase to pay compliance:
Provide advice and feedback to Global Business Service Contract to Pay on the operational purchase to pay process for the Affiliate.
Performance Monitoring: monitor and report supplier performance on the basis of pre-determined, relevant and measurable KPIs
Supplier performance improvement: establish, agree and implement improvement plans.
Benefits tracking: develop, implement, maintain and report Key Performance Indicators that clearly reflect the achievement of objectives in each business area
Educate affiliate members of the sourcing policy and ensure policy is compliance in affiliate.
Purchasing knowledge: sourcing process, commodity management and analysis, supplier management and development, pricing theory and policy, negotiation, supply chain, make or buy.
Degree in business
Purchasing related training (PPAC, MBA)
4 years Purchasing experience in a profit driven and international environment
Project Management experience (team or direct)
Experience in 4 or more of the following indirect categories:
Medical communications agencies
Printing and Fulfillment
Market research and Data
Business process related training
Experience in either leading or participating in Six Sigma projects
3 years Business Process related experience in a Pharmaceutical or similar environment
Fluency in multiple languages. French and English
Experience in presenting to senior management team
Experience with RFP/RFI/RFx processes, supplier negotiations and contracting
Experience with ERP (SAP, Ariba)
Superior Negotiation Skills
Excellent Computer skills (MS-office environment)
Intermediate Excel skills (eg. pivot tables)
