SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
  • The purpose of the Sr Manager, Contract and Legal Systems Administration,  Legal Department position is to manage all matters related to contract administration and the associated legal IT systems required to run the legal department as well as build out relevant repository systems and improvements to existing systems and IT processes.  
  • This includes liaising with the legal department and the Manager, Legal Systems Administration in San Rafael and the IT department to facilitate the day to day contracting requirements of all the legal department’s internal clients and ensure the smooth and swift delivery of contracts to those clients. 
  •  In addition, the Manager will be responsible for maintaining, updating, improving and providing training to all relevant personnel on the legal IT systems to ensure optimal use of such systems.  
  • The Sr Manager, CLSA also has management responsibilities for the contract associates in EUMEA legal.       




RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain and update legal IT systems for EUMEA to ensure the continued availability and use of all legal IT systems (including working with external vendors and the Manager, Legal Systems Administration in San Rafael to provide solutions and problem solving support where necessary).           
  •  Continue providing day to day support drafting and preparing all assigned contracts in the internal legal system and manage and support other contract administrators within the EUMEA region to ensure the appropriate and proportionate allocation of workloads.           
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of legal systems and manage and deliver it           
  • Liaise with US counterparts on the management and development of legal systems and take responsibility for the implementation of the EUMEA element of global projects where appropriate.           
  •  Assist with drafting and organizing company secretarial and corporate documentation where required.           
  • Manage all NDAs and other service, consulting agreements for internal clients.           
  •  Assist with implementation and training in connection with global legal IT systems and processes.           
  •  Manage, assist and coordinate (where appropriate) project management of various legal IT-related activities and initiatives.           
  • Maintain current understanding of laws and regulations applicable to pharmaceutical/biotechnology compliance, along with recent industry trends and changes in the EUMEA region.     Coordinate project management of various legal-related activities and initiatives           
  •  Manage a team of Contract Administrators           



EDUCATION
  • Extensive experience within in-house legal function and contract administration is a “must”.           
  • High level of IT skills and SharePoint architecture is essential.           
  • Must be willing to learn and develop and be capable to handle high workload as well as varied assignments on a concurrent basis.           



EXPERIENCE
  • Strong in-house experience at a pharmaceutical/biotechnology organization strongly preferred.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of functionality and use of IT systems to process contracts within a legal department environment as well as solid basic drafting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness operating in complex organizational and regulatory environments.         
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of management and the general workforce.         
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with others in addressing complex issues.         
  • Strong persuasive skills and sound business judgment.         
  • Excellent written, oral, training and presentation skills.         
  • Strong problem solving skills.         
  • Motivated, self-starter with ability to appropriately prioritize issues and allocate resources and be capable of working alone and making sound decisions.         
  • Experience of developing, managing and maintaining IT systems for legal functions also necessary         
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with others in addressing complex issues.         
  • Strong persuasive and influencing skills and sound business judgment.         
  • Strong task-focused work ethic with a demonstrated ability to work to and meet tight deadlines and commitments.         
  • Demonstrated flexible approach to adapt to the change in business needs
