Sr. manager/Associate Director, New Product Pricing Strategy-POL000254


Position Description:
The successful candidate will be a key member of franchise and cross-functional commercial teams. S/he will lead the development of pricing strategy for all new launch products; and, for in-line brands, will provide strategic guidance regarding the pricing implications associated with competition or other relevant changes in our market environment. Key priorities include regular engagement with the local franchise teams; develop/ update pricing strategies for new and in-line brands; lead strategic pricing research to inform pricing strategy; and, work with Global Pricing teams to align and gain Global headquarters support for MSD China pricing strategies and pricing recommendations. The candidate will be required to explore and provide recommendations on how innovative pricing or pseudo-pricing solutions may play a role in preserving price, maximizing profit and optimizing patients’ access to MSD China products.
Additional responsibilities of the candidate will include providing pricing support to train and develop the pricing capabilities among relevant stakeholders at MSD China. Also, to advocate for cultural change and align key stakeholders around the Pricing COE philosophy that every penny counts, value matters.


Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree in a business or science-related discipline with a strong focus on Pharmaceutical Marketing or Health Economics

Required Experience and Skills**: Minimum of (5) years’ experience in a strategic capacity in pharmaceutical marketing or pricing, reimbursement, access or health outcomes functions. Experience in leading cross-functional teams to address strategic issues through information gathering, analysis and informed choices.

Preferred Experience and Skills: Minimum of (5) years’ experience in a pharmaceutical marketing, pricing, reimbursement,outcomes research or access role. A confident leadership mindset with proven ability to influence. A strong and natural ability to collaborate cross functionally. A passion for strategic thinking. Ability to interact with a broad range of senior management at both the local and Global levels. Persuasive writing, speaking and presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
