Amgen is seeking a Specialist Information Systems (IS) Architect – Office 365 to join Global Business Services (GBS), Collaboration Technology Service Team and will interact with Amgen functional areas, Microsoft and managed service partners supporting Office 365 tool sets and related products. The Specialist will be responsible for technical oversight of Office 365 technologies and other components that make up the core collaboration product family utilized at Amgen. The incumbent will manage customer expectations, perform the hands-on technical content development work on their own and deliver readiness training and speaking at employee training events and be an Amgen evangelist/champion that works with functional areas and provides “fit-for-purpose” technology solutions.

The Specialist IS Architect will report to the Senior Manager Information Systems based out of Amgen’s Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies.

Global Business Services (GBS), Communications, Collaboration, and Compute (CCC) team that is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and life cycle of Amgen’s messaging and collaboration technologies. The team consists of cross-disciplinary IS professionals who understand how to deliver services that span both infrastructure and applications.

Key Activities for the Specialist IS Architect include:
Champion technology advancement within Amgen via frequent interactions, demos, and understand of core business functions
Lead the administration of Office 365 Tenant across all environments and candidate must have expert level powershell skill with breadth of experience across office 365 technologies such as Office 365 Groups, Stream etc. and hands on experience in Office 365, Graph, SharePoint API’s.
Interact with Vendors to understand & develop joint roadmaps/strategies. Interact with Amgen’s, Information Security, Identity and Access Management, Records and Information Management teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized to protect Amgen’s information.
Collaborate with run Managed Service provider to ensure SLA’s are being achieved for services
Coordinate Major Incident Management activities for collaboration services.
Engage the business to understand their business requirements and current processes, and helping find ways to improve processes using Services within Office 365 including SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Apps, Flow, Nintex Online, Azure Apps etc.
Constantly assess new technology capabilities as they present themselves in the market.
Helping business clients learn to construct complex solutions in SharePoint Contribute to longer-range architecture, strategy and direction for Enterprise Collaboration including platform and solutions for external collaboration
Balance building complex solutions with maintaining a client’s ability to understand, maintain, and support the solution going forward and drive projects based on agile principles, collaborating with application development teams on design, development & test of integration solutions across diverse applications
Working closely with Operations/Run team to troubleshoot problems, assist in deployment activities
Travel: Domestic and/or International travel up to 5% may be essential

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
Master’s degree and 3 years of Information Systems and/or Office 365 experience
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Systems and/or Office 365 experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems and/or Office 365 experience
High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems and/or Office 365 experience

Preferred Qualifications
Strong background delivering emerging technologies, mitigating risk and delivering innovation
Proven ability to move products from Demo and Proof of Concept to Pilot and Production quickly
Bachelor’s degree and strong experience in O365 / SharePoint/OneDrive
Ability to translate strategic opportunities and emerging technology solutions into tangible pragmatic executable plans
Hands on experience with Office 365, SharePoint Online and other Cloud Enterprise Solutions Collaborative working with Enterprise Architecture group and implementation partners in defining solution specifications
Experience in analyzing, estimating and planning for enhancement requests, building new apps cross functionally in Office 365 Technologies such as SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Groups, Azure etc.
Strong time and task management skills to estimate and successfully meet project timeline with ability to bring consistency and quality assurance across various projects
Good communication skills in explaining the collaboration features to end users and assisting end users with utilizing SharePoint features and functions
Development and configuration depth in building and deploying complex SharePoint solutions and related office 365 technologies
Experience with modern web standards and technologies (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3)
Ability to learn new technologies, and be able to work and deliver high quality in a high pressure, fast paced environment
Excellent documentation and writing skills to ensure compliance with policy
Able to work independently and provide recommendations on strategies for meeting client needs within the portal, collaboration, and enterprise social domains and bring creative problem solving and issue resolution skills
