Project Description

Summary  
  • The Software Development Test Engineer is part of the software development team responsible for creating and maintaining the software that drives our company’s laboratory automation solutions. 
  • The ideal candidate would have an interest in Life Sciences, and be well versed in good software engineering practices using Microsoft and other third party tools. 
  • The incumbent is expected to not only be a strong individual contributor, but also be able to comfortably work as part of a multi-national team.    


Responsibilities:   
  • Work in a cross functional team from initial design to delivery to develop quality assurance and test plans for product releases 
  • Work through all testing manually and be able to augment test cases 
  • Write and track Bug Reports as problems are found and corrected 
  • Develop testing plans and test cases for multiple products and projects 
  • Execute testing strategies, plans and test cases for multiple products and projects 
  • Build advanced automated test suites to exercise our applications. 
  • Work with the development and test engineering teams to automate testing. 
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies 
  • Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action 
  • Perform QA reporting for product release process

Qualifications:   
  • BS/MS in an Engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience, advanced degree preferred 
  • Minimum 8 years of accumulated software testing experience in designing and executing comprehensive test plans for commercial applications in both Agile and phase gate development processes 
  • Minimum 3 years automation experience with 2 years’ of direct experience with Coded UI and/or Ranorex 
  • Seasoned professional with the ability to understand and have successfully worked with scientific instruments in Life Sciences, encompassing Bio-Chemistry, Genomics, Opto-Electro-mechanical technologies 
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft technology stack including C# and .Net 
  • In-depth knowledge of various testing methodologies 
  • Effective communication, planning, organization, problem solving and troubleshooting skills required   
  • Energetic, results-driven with excellent organizational and prioritization skills 
  • Highly effective time management skills 
  • Aptitude to learn new systems and retain technical information 
  • Commitment to customer excellence with demonstrated ethics and integrity 
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement principles  


 Nice to have:   
  • Familiar with DevOps testing needs, scripting using PowerShell and working within the cloud
