Project Description

Main tasks
  • Apply Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Alliance Management best practice, lead ‘key account’ strategic supplier relationships 
  • Establish/lead supplier governance to provide transparent oversight and supplier relationship and performance (including KPIs)
  • Recommend solutions both internally and externally to continuously reduce risk, and improve the outsourcing experience in relation to quality, time and cost
  • Act as a Strategic Business Partner to relevant internal functions
  • Lead supplier business relationships, including Steering Committees and Business Review Meetings
  • Negotiate and maintain commercial agreements with key suppliers, including Master Service Agreements and Service Level Agreements 
  • Lead the outsourcing and ongoing contract management of specific projects 
  • Provide expert advice to enable sound cost forecasting recommendations for the budgeting process
  • Seek internal and external professional networking opportunities, to  ensure Company develops industry leading sourcing and supplier management strategy and process
  • Line management of one or more Outsourcing Associates 

Key Competencies
  • Extensive experience within clinical research and/or product development and outsourcing
  • Direct experience of managing  high value supplier contracts across a broad range of service areas, on a global basis and within both tactical and strategic supplier relationships
  • Expertise in the leadership of supplier relationships, governance and performance management (including KPIs, steering committees and joint operational efficiency programmes)
  • Previous line management experience desirable

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to nurture internal customer and external business relationships to the benefit of all parties, including senior executive level
  • Strong and demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills with a flexible approach and style
  • Exemplary project management, budgetary, analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Fluent in English (both oral and written) 
  • Willingness to travel (mainly German)
