Senior Revenue Analyst

 

Avadel, a publicly traded specialty global pharmaceutical company with commercial offices located in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a Senior Revenue Analyst to join our finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager this position will keep up with US GAAP revenue recognition standards, including the accounting for gross to net deductions, and being able to apply said standards to US operations.  This includes responsibility for month end/quarter end accounts receivable and revenue related account reconciliations and analyses. This position will also assist with month-end management reporting and forecasting on ad-hoc basis.

 

The Accounts Payable Manager will work with many internal departments including: St. Louis team - including Finance, Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain, Legal, Quality; Irish and French finance teams including European Controller, Financial Planning Manager and France IT team including Chief of Information Systems.

 

The external relations include external auditors, external accounting advisors, third party logistics company and third party service providers.

 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Keep abreast of revenue recognition accounting standards
  • Prepare detailed net revenue calculations on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Document and support basis/rationale for estimates used in the calculation of revenue or gross to net deductions
  • Work with DLSS (third-party logistics provider) and ValueCentric reports to complete monthly close of A/R and net revenue
  • Prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable, inventory, deferred revenue and related accrued liabilities
  • Perform monthly and quarterly key control activities related to A/R and revenue
  • Design and analyze monthly revenue analysis by customer and product and understand price and volume variances
  • Design, track and analyze product return trend reports
  • Review and summarize executed customer contracts (wholesalers and GPOs), ensuring financial implications are properly recognized and reported
  • Keep current on customer pricing and fees and changes thereof
  • Assist in the review of customer fee invoices, including wholesaler and GPO invoices
  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts for product revenue based on sales forecasts provided
  • Prepare revenue projections out several years, as part of a valuation exercise on a quarterly basis, based on sales forecasts and assumptions provided
  • Be an integral part in the design and implementation of the company’s ERP system, as it relates to sales and A/R functionality
  • Support month-end consolidation and management reporting as needed
  • Support quarter-/year-end external SEC reporting (10-K/10-Q/etc.) as needed

Key Skills/Competencies

  • Technical accounting and bookkeeping skills
  • PC proficient and experienced with accounting software
  • Expert Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel
  • Experience and knowledge working on budgets and forecasts
  • Knowledge of and experience with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create new processes and procedures

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA licensure
  • 3 to 5+ years’ experience in public and/or private accounting sector
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus
  • Revenue recognition accounting experience required
  • Chargeback and other pharmaceutical gross-to-net deduction accounting experience a plus
