Project Description

This Senior Project Manager role reports to the Executive Director, Global Value, Access and Policy (GVA&P), and will lead strategic planning efforts across a GVA&P organization for both in-line and pipeline assets. This position will primarily support strategic planning and operational needs in the Value Communications, Global Payer and Market Access (GPMA), and Innovation Policy Research Group (IPRG) sub-functions of GVA&P. Key activities include managing business performance for inline growth brands, launch planning for pipeline assets, budget oversight, operations activities (including compliance), annual planning leadership, and value articulation and communication. The successful candidate will join a high performing team committed to driving Amgen’s continued growth and launch readiness.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities:

Driving management of financial and portfolio goals to achieve budget targets and lead TAs through strategic alignment (including overseeing process for preparing LE and LRP deliverables)

Delivering on departmental targets for annual budget planning

Collaborating with BAI, payer, pricing, and marketing teams to support portfolio management and to inform investment decisions

Implementing best practices for compliance and governance activities with a rigorous focus on clear expectations for processes across Global teams

Partnering with global marketing teams to align brand strategies with lifecycle plans and identify data generation opportunities

Managing integration of digital resources across Global Payer & Global Marketing with a focus on enhancing executive leadership communication of strategy

Supporting value communications activities reinforcing the value of Amgen’s medicines and innovative solutions with external and internal audiences

Successfully managing agency partners to complete projects and ensure accurate budget forecasts and regular reporting of metrics

Providing best-in-class functional support to ED (GPMA) clients by actively engaging on business unit priorities for strategy, training, talent, and operations

Integrating launch excellence into pipeline product activity, focused on delivering on Global’s commitment to support regional priorities

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of project management experience
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of project management experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of project management experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of project management experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or other Master’s degree

Project management experience in biotech or pharmaceutical company, or in healthcare industry, in value and market access, reimbursement, pricing or related field.

Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams with diverse backgrounds

Demonstrated success in project management in a matrix environment

Demonstrated ability to produce business results in a dynamic environment

Ability to deal with rapidly changing priorities and multi task

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Documented track record of success

Demonstrated ability to analyze a business problem and develop appropriate strategy

Previous supervisory management experience
