Project Description



Provide support for sales team and assist in selling all Charles River products/services.  May involve telesales, sales support, customer follow up on leads, and CRM system support. Responsible for analyzing and reporting ROI from all sales leads.  Assist department management with oversight and daily supervision of Marketing Assistant and management of the marketing literature room.

Collaborate with sales managers to develop telemarketing campaigns.
Develop and qualify leads through frequent customer contact and prospecting.
Maintain a cooperative relationship with the sales organization, passing off leads to more appropriate sales representatives when outside of scope, domain or function.
Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and quantify payback (ROI) in terms of leads generated, new customers, and sales levels.
Under Supervision from the Department Manager, provide guidance and leadership to the Marketing Assistant. Develop project timelines and schedules for the Marketing Assistant position.  Manage projects to completion within schedule parameters.
Assist with scheduling and providing training for new and current users of the sales CRM database system to ensure compliance.
Assist Department Manager with managing the marketing literature/mail room.
Perform ongoing support to the corporate 800 numbers by answering CRIVER calls and e-mails when needed.
Ensure an effective and professional image to the customer and an accurate portrayal of business strategies both on the phone and at customer events.
Maintain a working knowledge of all company product lines.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education:  Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in communications, marketing, journalism/English, advertising or related discipline.
Experience:   1-3 years directly-related marketing communications experience, including experience handling multiple projects.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure:  None.
Other:  Working knowledge of public relations, events and advertising procedures.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Previous experience within a life science environment (e.g., biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device company, hospital, lab) highly preferred.
