Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director Marketing & Product Management, Microbial Services for our Marketing Group located in Charleston, SC.

This position will provide an exciting opportunity to lead, develop and execute the product portfolio marketing strategy for three high-growth, high-visibility brands. Work closely with sales, engineering and product development teams to define specifications for new product development. Develop and drive the go-to-market plans for new products and evolve the marketing strategy for existing products including the approach for market research, branding, positioning and promotion through an integrated global marketing plan. Manage a dynamic team of Product Managers and Marketing Managers to help drive the successful commercialization of products.

Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Senior Director Marketing & Product Management, Microbial Services position.

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in Marketing or related discipline.  MBA required.
  • Experience:  Ten plus years related experience in a combination of marketing, product management, communications and business management positions within a technical environment (e.g., biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device company, hospital, or laboratory).
  • Certification/Licensure:  None.
  • Other: 
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement marketing strategies and tactics to deliver business results.
  • Proven ability to creatively develop and execute business to business product (service) marketing programs with global utility.
  • Expert knowledge of marketing concepts and techniques.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams to achieve established goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Corporate Functions provide operational support across Charles River in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Corporate Development. They partner with their colleagues across the company to develop and drive strategies and to set global standards. The functions are essential to providing a bridge between strategic vision and operational readiness, to ensure ongoing functional innovation and capability improvement.
