Responsibilities

BASIC SUMMARY:

Provide general support to fixed assets functions and general accounting. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
Assist with preparation of transaction tax filings, including sales & use tax, property tax, gross receipts taxes, business license, and registration. 
Participates in ERP system’s design, maintenance, and implementation related to indirect tax matters to ensure compliance, enhance efficiency and minimize expense.
Assist with sales and use tax audits.
Research and implement tax rate & legislation changes or law changes that impact the company and conduct tax research for new business initiatives, as well minimize risk and exposure.
Prepare and review monthly tax reconciliations for the tax liability accounts. 
Review monthly use tax accruals for accuracy. Collaborate with the business unit and accounts payable group as to the proper taxation of purchases.  
Work with external and internal customers in regards to tax inquiries. 
Maintain customer’s sales tax exemption certificates. 
Maintain documentation in accordance with SOX requirements.
Perform other related duties as required.
Maintain electronic vendor master data
Complete regulatory census reports.
Support fixed asset department in capital requests. Coordinate invoices for capital expenditures
Maintain user data in Blackline system.
Coordinate audit documentation to internal and external auditors.
Assist in SAP data requests.
Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Accounting or business related.
Experience:  1-2 years related experience and /or training (Life Science or Biotech preferred)
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Other:  Knowledge of US Indirect tax laws/regulations preferred.  Must possess aptitude to learn new systems (SAP & Vertex O Series),   Strong analytical and organizational skills.  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
