To underpin our commitment to serve patients, Amgen is developing our Translational Science focus with modern molecular and cellular science and pathology laboratories, designed to discover and develop valuable biomarkers in support of clinical programs.Amgen R&D Medical Sciences/Translational Sciences is looking for a Scientist dedicated to clinical biomarker development. This position will primarily support Inflammation and Immuno-Oncology biomarker discovery and development. The successful candidate is expected to work cross-functionally within Amgen and to interact closely with both the clinical and discovery research groups. The position will focus on the development and execution of clinical biomarker assays to inform biochemical coverage, pharmacodynamics, and patient selection markers to support the progression of Amgen s pipeline candidates from late preclinical development through all stages of clinical development. The role is responsible for designing experiments, drafting and implementing protocols, executing studies, organizing data, analyzing results, and drafting technical reports or tech transfer documents. The candidate will interface with the Inflammation and Immuno-Oncology therapeutic area. The candidate is expected to work in a highly matrixed environment and drive scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of the group, as well as with Amgen research community.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degreeORMaster s degree and 4 years of Scientific experienceORBachelor s degree and 6 years of Scientific experiencePreferred Qualifications:Ph.D in life sciences or translational research with a successful post-doctoral fellowship.Ability to manage complex lab activities and multiple projects.Ability to focus on key issues and be results oriented.A proven track record of productivity, effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.Knowledge and experience in the development and monitoring of cardiometabolic biomarkers in the clinical setting.
