About the opportunity

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced HTS scientist to join the biology department in our state of the art site in Saffron Walden, UK. The department is responsible for a wide range of activities in biological sciences predominantly in the pre-clinical drug discovery space, including assay development, hit finding, compound profiling and mechanism of action studies. In this lab based role you will be a key part of our high throughput screening (HTS) teams, developing, optimizing and executing in vitro biological assays (biochemical, cell based and high content assays) for HTS small molecule drug discovery projects.


BSc in a relevant scientific discipline
Some experience in developing, optimizing and executing in vitro biological assays ideally in a pharma or biotech setting
Ability to QC and troubleshoot automated HTS assays
Able to work independently and in a team to solve problems on a day-to-day basis
Capable of creative and independent experimental design
A passion for science; a willingness to learn more about the drug discovery process and awareness of the relevant scientific literature and contemporary laboratory practices.
Good communication skills; these will be essential for working in a matrix environment
Strong organizational and time management skills alongside an inbuilt flexibility to adapt to change
To be an effective team player; to collaborate effectively with your peers
Excellent  attention to detail; getting it right the first time and quality control are at the heart of what we do
The ability to work to deadlines and a positive “can do” approach to their work.
