We are looking for a self-motivated, result oriented scientist with a strong work ethic to participate in the discovery and development of small molecule therapies for Rare Diseases at IVB (In Vitro Biology) group at Waltham MA. Specifically the person will be involved in the design, development and validation of a variety of biochemical and cell based assays; be a part of multidisciplinary drug discovery team; collaborate with representatives from Med. Chemistry, DMPK and Pharmacology departments in the project team setting. The successful candidate is expected to have wide expertise in biochemistry, enzymology, cell biology and specifically in assay development, to support HTS campaigns following by iteratively compounds testing; to be fluent with new technologies and willing to learn new skills to improve productivity and effectively support the projects. Experience with in MTS/HTS assay development and a strong background in cell biology, biochemistry and enzymology is required, familiarity with small molecule drug discovery is essential. Experience with MOA studies is a plus. Expertise in gene editing is a plus. Experience working on early-stage drug discovery project teams is highly desirable. The successful candidate should have good communication and presentation skills, work effectively in multitasking environment, be a good team player and be motivated to excel in both individual and team environments. Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a related discipline with 3 plus years or an M.S. with 5 plus years of relevant experience.
