Position Description:

The Sales Specialist provides professional sales expertise for PerkinElmer Analytical Instruments product lines within a defined territory. The ideal candidate should be based in Northwestern Oregon.

Duties include:
  • Achieving or exceeding Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
  • Understanding customer needs and relating them to the appropriate PerkinElmer product lines to present a solution: Atomic Spectroscopy;Gas/ Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry; Molecular Spectroscopy; Thermal & Elemental Analysis
  • Managing CRM on a daily basis  experience with is preferred
  • Understanding capital equipment sales cycles and providing accurate forecasts
  • Maintaining a funnel of opportunities 2-3X existing AOP target
  • Conducting effective seminars & presentations
  • Working as a team with Field Application Scientists, Service Engineers, Product Line Leaders, and Sales Leadership to achieve AOP
  • Traveling within the territory to customer accounts, sales meetings, and related events
  • Demonstrating strong initiative and willingness to take ownership of results

Job Requirements :
  • Undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in high-end analytical instrumentation sales experience with proven success
  • Experience & knowledge of markets and applications for the following technologies is preferred: AA; ICP-OES; ICP-MS; GC; GC/MS; LC; LC/MS; FITR; UV/VIS/NIR; DSC; TGA; DMA; EA
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are a must
  • Demonstrate an understanding of various markets: industrial, environmental, dietary supplements, food, academic research, and emerging markets
  • The successful applicant is required to reside in Northwest Oregon or be willing to relocate
  • Approximately 20% overnight travel required
  • Must be a proven self-motivated individual
  • Must possess a valid driver s license with a good driving record
