The Protein BioSciences group at Lilly’s Biotechnology Center San Diego seeks a Ph.D level scientist with experience in structural mass spectrometry to join a team responsible for the expression, purification, and characterization of protein therapeutics.

The primary focus of this position will be to use mass spectrometry to study protein-protein interactions, protein structural perturbations, and small molecule-protein interactions using the latest advancements in hydrogen deuterium exchange mass spectrometry technology. The candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations of the structural Mass Spectrometry (MS) group, provide leadership in developing the next generation structural MS technologies, and interact with a wide range of scientists throughout Lilly. The candidate must be able to disseminate results to project teams, transition teams, and legal groups in a clear and concise manner.
  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a similar discipline with at least 1 year post-doctoral Research experience.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience automated HDX systems preferred.
  • Experience with Waters and/or Agilent mass spectrometry systems and software would be considered advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience in HDX/MS or similar discipline in the study of protein structure.
