Research AssistantWe re looking for a self-motivated and hardworking individual to join our New Platforms Product & Process Development (NPPPD) team in Ottawa. In this, your main responsibility will be to conduct routine laboratory work in support of fermentation process development. You will work together with other staff to ensure that the testing process is completed effectively, efficiently, and a timely manner in order to meet NZ s quality standards. In this position, you will need:Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline.College diploma in related sciences with minimum two years laboratory experience.Strong working knowledge of standard laboratory techniques and analytical equipment.The ability to work independently combined with a passion for collaborating with others.Demonstrated communication skills to be successful in a team work culture, including being fluent in English.Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.ChallengesAs a Research Assistant, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in executing well-defined experiments, using routine and non-routine analytical methods, analyze your own data and provide a preliminary assessment/interpretation of results, with suggestions for next steps when appropriate. You will troubleshoot routine problems independently, as well as report results in a clear manner, either through email or written reports, plus have the opportunity and accountability for scheduling daily/weekly work meeting the defined timelines. You will learn maintenance of specified lab equipment, share in general lab cleaning duties and have responsibilities that include purchasing, preparing and maintaining laboratory reagents.
