Good Participatory Practice Project Manager
What is Good Participatory Practice (GPP)?
Good Participatory Practice (GPP) is a set of guidelines that provide trial funders, sponsors, and implementers - including investigators and research staff - involved in designing, financing, and executing biomedical HIV prevention trials with systematic guidance on how to effectively engage with stakeholders (individuals, groups, organizations, governments or other) in the design and conduct of these trials. The GPP guidelines serve trial funders, sponsors and implementers to "ensure the ethical and scientific quality and outcome of proposed research, its relevance to the affected community, and its acceptance by the local community…"
GPP guidelines have been co-published by UNAIDS and AVAC; they describe 16 different GPP practices. See www.avac.org
What does GPP mean to our company?
The GPP guidance fits very well in the Patient oriented vision of our company and the Investigator and Patient Engagement group. A taskforce, supported by Peter Ronco, was founded in January 2016, that translates the external GPP Guidelines into our company practices.
GPP Is currently being piloted for the HIV vaccine studies. The intention is to broaden up the GPP scope for other diseases and therapeutic areas moving forward.
