Quality Control – Technician, Salem, VA
Within our QC team, we are looking for an individual to assist with the development of stability data and the related quality control procedures in support of the stability program for microbe-based products. You will have the opportunity to help identify and operate existing and new equipment. Other responsibilities include processing and analysing of samples, data analysis, report writing, media preparation, hazardous/non-hazardous waste disposal and serving as a technical resource to various stakeholders.
In this position you need to have:
B.S. in Chemistry, Microbiology, or closely related applicable science or A.S./A.A.S. in a physical, life, or related science with 2 years applicable experience.
Experience in microbiology, molecular techniques with working knowledge of statistics and experimental design desired.
Demonstrated computer skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively on multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across department lines.
Good problem solving skills and deductive reasoning expected with Root Cause Analysis experience needed for investigation and troubleshooting.
Ability to discern color and periodically lift/move up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Available to participate in weekend and holiday coverage on a rotating basis as needed to perform quality control testing.
Ability to work in the U.S. currently and in the future without sponsorship.
