The Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) Organization delivers new and renovated capital assets around the world that produce cGMP pharmaceutical products. The mission is accomplished through a highly leveraged organization of design, construction and qualification contractors.

Project Management: Manage capital investments ranging from $25M to $75M to achieve objectives identified in Project feasibility phase and confirmed at full funding phase. Typical project objectives include: cost, schedule, asset capacity/capability, change processes and HSE metrics.
Compliance: Execute projects in compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures: Safety/Environmental, Regulatory, and applicable Government regulations.
Delivery: Lead group of resources through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and qualification activities. This also includes managing contracting/commercial processes, estimating/scheduling processes, change management, and end of project asset turnover and capitalization processes.
Safety/Environment: Create and influence construction Safety/Environmental execution plans and lead incident review meetings.
Interface/Communication: Accountable to the Project Steering (Governance) Team and responsible for communication to the project team: EPCM, Vendors, Construction Contractors, Corporate QA/QC, HSE, Financial, and Procurement

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large teams consisting of both Lilly and Non-Lilly professionals. The capacity to achieve results through people is critical.
  • Ability to influence personnel and organizations, without having direct administrative responsibility for them.
  • The ability to facilitate issue resolution, anticipate changes plan ahead, and implement with quality speed and value, are particularly important.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at long distances with minimal supervision. Must exhibit a strong sense of judgment. In decision making, without the need for management approval while keeping management informed and engaged on critical issues.
  • Demonstrated value and experience in applying a structured approach to project management based on compliance with Policies and Procedures rather than an individual approach dependent on personal style.
  • Effective communication skills that allows the Project Manager to interface with a broad spectrum of personnel at all levels of the organization, and with both Lilly and non-Lilly personnel.
  • Able to obtain a valid Passport.
  • Willingness to accept assignments that demand travel outside Indiana, including overseas, that would include not just overnight but weekend and extended travel for weeks or even months.
  • Bachelor Degree Engineering (e.g. mechanical, electrical, process engineer)
  • Minimum 7 years experience with new facility delivery, capital project deliveryand/or project management
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
  • Proficient with asset/Investment portions of SAP, financial, legal and contractual requirements.
  • Proficient with Capital Investment analysis and alternative evaluations.
  • Knowledge in Project Controls – budgeting and cost/scheduling tools and techniques
  • Microsoft office skills such as power point and excel, SharePoint.
  • Professional Engineer or equivalent technical certification
  • Competency in a foreign language(s)
  • Passed experience in working and/or living outside the U.S.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, the application of Project Governance Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or industrial asset delivery such as: active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), secondary manufacturing and finishing, packaging facilities.
  • This role will begin in Indiana but may require relocation outside off Indiana and the US for greater than 18 months as Company Investments dictate.
  • Extensive travel up to 50% outside Indiana, including overseas, that could include weekend and extended travel for weeks or even months.
