Product Owner – Structured Experiments-ACC004158

Description

MSD is a global health care leader with a diversified portfolio of prescription medicines, vaccines and animal health products. Today, we are building a new kind of healthcare company – one that is ready to help create a healthier future for all of us.

Our ability to excel depends on the integrity, knowledge, imagination, skill, diversity and teamwork of an individual like you. To this end, we strive to create an environment of mutual respect, encouragement and teamwork. As part of our global team, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with talented and dedicated colleagues while developing and expanding your career.

Do you have a background in the health or biotech industry?

Do you like to understand the core ideas behind business problems/opportunities that might have technological solutions?
Do you have knack at understanding and tying in business to technical teams and together finding solutions to as yet unresolved problems?
Would you like to conduct experiments that move the boundaries of what is possible and help others in improving their lives?
We are seeking energetic, forward-thinking professionals with a business background to join our Information Technology group in Prague. As part of the Structured Experiments team, you will help grow our new IT Global Innovation Center and its focus on developing and applying advanced capabilities in innovative information sciences applicable to the organizations and customers(doctors, patients, marketing and sales reps) inside of our company. Inside of this role you will be focused on the business domain of healthcare and pharma with in depth technical support within or outside of the team( although limited technical knowledge for small user prototypes and MVPs is a must).
Under the direction of the Structured Experiments Team Leader, you will be working on projects that evaluate new business opportunities and the technologies that enable them. You will join a team that develops solutions internally leveraging the dynamic technical team that we have in the hub, but also interacts with external collaborators, including but not limited to academic research groups, technology vendors, and commercial start-ups.
The role will essentially be product management “on steroids” with the short build measure learn loops and a focus on getting quick business/technology verification through small MVPs. You will work on early stage experimental projects throughout Ideation, Proof-of-Concept, design and prototyping, preparing projects for pilots and further development. You will be given the opportunity to contribute with new technology sensing initiatives, participate in innovation boot camps, and facilitate workshops. You will work closely with business gaining insight into how the pharmaceutical industry works so that you can better evaluate new opportunities. You will be at the centre of creating an innovation culture at MSD.
We offer project-based rotations to help with your professional development, and a flat, collaborative environment. Overall, our new Global Innovation Centre in Prague offers technology professionals incredible opportunities to learn from others across the globe, to challenge themselves, and to enjoy a reward that technology careers don’t often bring: the satisfaction of helping to save lives.

In a nutshell, we will want you to:
• Identify new ideas and opportunities to apply technology to address business needs within MSD, facilitating initial ideation discussions with appropriate stakeholders.
• Propose innovative technological solutions to business problems and design experiments to clarify their potential business value to MSD. Projects will follow a structured approach to experimentation in order to validate a technological concept and mitigate potential risks, and will be positioned so that they can be sponsored and developed on a larger scale.
• Define and articulate a business case and stakeholder needs for each experiment. Evaluate potential projects based on their business value, and make recommendations based on their business and technical feasibility.
• Identify stakeholders, business opportunities, potential technological approaches, and competencies required for each project. Build teams that represent and can adequately address technological and business opportunities.
• Drive experiments toward clear milestones and endpoints with the engagement of a diverse team, manage project budget and expenditures.
• Navigate stakeholders and diverse needs of the business, aligning disparate visions and catering to multiple sections of the business.
• Maintain an active internal and external network for collaborations; involving stakeholders to promote innovation initiatives and gather feedback at an early stage.
• Continuously develop and maintain technical expertise on a wide range of technologies, technological trends and their application inside of business.
• Prove creativity, vision, and flexibility; balancing multiple projects and functioning well in situations where not all answers are known.
• Foster a spirit of innovation, supporting workshops and ideation activities within MSD.

We offer:
• Competitive remuneration
• Position in a world leading global company
• Challenging career
• Professional growth based on performance
• Innovative working environment
• Wide range of benefits
