Job DescriptionWe are seeking a marketer with orphan/rare disease experience to develop and implement go-to-market strategies and tactics for a late stage development compound for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a rare pediatric neuromuscular disease. This position will lead the launch of what is expected to be the first commercially available therapy in the spinal muscular atrophy market.

The Product Manager is a 50% field based/50% office based role within commercial reporting into the Director, Sales & Marketing.
Essential functions of the job include:

• Create a launch project plan and lead a cross-functional team to ensure a flawless execution of the plan to ensure a successful launch

• Collaborate with Decision Support to inform, design, and execute market research projects to help inform brand strategic decisions

• Work with Commercial leadership to help influence the overall go-to-market strategy

• Engage with the SMA community (physicians and patient advocacy groups) both pre- and post-launch in order to help inform KOL mapping, understand account profiles, and to understand market place needs

• Develop and implement tactics to equip the field teams to educate their key stakeholders on SMA and, post approval, SPINRAZA

• Develop and implement digital tactics to introduce Biogen to the appropriate HCP and Patient Advocacy community and, post approval, increase awareness of SPINRAZA

• Partner with PO&T to support the development of the launch and post-launch demand forecast
The job holder will frequently interact with Sales, Medical, Public Affairs, Market Research/ Decision Support, Market Access, Finance, Legal, Compliance and Regulatory.

Putting patients first and having a significant respect for science
2-5 years of orphan/rare disease product marketing experience required. Pediatric experience would be valuable, but not required
Launch experience preferred but not required
Sales experience preferred but not required
EducationBachelor degree required; MBA preferred
