We are seeking an experienced individual to join our Marketing team who shares our passion for quality and innovation. The successful candidate must be competent to perform multiple tasks in a collaborative work setting. Reporting to the Vice President Global Marketing, Components, this position is responsible for maintaining and expanding our leading position in liquid handling OEM solutions. A proven track record of accuracy and on-time delivery of projects is critical in an environment where errors could cause substantial delay, expense and disruption.
Product Line Support
Coordinate and develop marketing, sales, and financial plans for the assigned portfolio of product lines in conjunction with the Senior Product Manager and marketing team.
Create and implement advertising and sales promotions through use of appropriate resources such as agencies, photographers, etc.
Provide sales support by attending conventions, shows, medical meetings and seminars or customer visits at the discretion of management.
Manage product life cycle to drive growth and meet financial objectives. This includes responsibility for product profit margins and price recommendations. Maintain communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, marketing, schedule and sales information for product line(s).
Compile and maintain a complete competitive intelligence file for use by marketing department. Provide competitive matrices and comparisons to support sales efforts and development of portfolio strategies.
Work with customers to promote and evaluate products.
New Product Development
Identify market requirements for current products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
Provide input to project team to best satisfy user needs and intended use.
Provide financial and technical justification for product selection and definition including cost analysis and price recommendations.
Provide technical advice to the engineering and marketing departments in the areas of medical device, lab procedures and general principles of lab tests in the field.
Support the Quality System and Quality Policy by following procedures/work instructions and creating records to meet the requirements of the Tecan Quality System and ISO registration.
Education and Experience
BS in a technical or business field plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in life science, biotechnology, and/or diagnostic markets.
2+ years of product management experience strongly preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Multiple experiences owning some aspects of product execution.
Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships, trust and credibility with customers.
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Technical and business acumen and a demonstrated passion for great user experiences.
Self-motivated, exceptional time and priority management skills required.
Experience working in cross-functional teams covering various internal organizations.
Ability to solve complex troubleshooting issues.
Travel up to 25%.
Ability to speak Mandarin a plus.
