Principal IS Business Systems Analyst - GRAAS IS - United States
The Principal IS Business Systems Analyst will report to the Director of Information Systems and be part of the GRAAS IS team within Development Information Systems (Dev IS) supporting the Global Patient Safety & Labeling (GPS&L) function and shall serve as a liaison between GPS&L and Information System team to provide technical solutions for the GPS&L business function. The Principal’s focus is on overall Safety platform and Periodic Aggregate Safety Reporting (PASR) and Analytics roadmap and excellence.
The GRAAS IS team supports Global Patient Safety & Labeling and Regulatory Affairs functions within Global R&D. This encompasses services responsible for the optimization of the safe use of Amgen products through continuous benefit:risk assessment and communication as well as providing regulatory and safety intelligence for the development, registration, and lifecycle management of Amgen’s molecules.
Key responsibilities of the Principal IS Business Systems Analyst include:
Drive the overall roadmap and strategy for GPS&L reporting and analytics services
Partner with Global Patient Safety (GPS&L) to translate high-level business requirements into functional specifications for system implementation and configuration, as well as design artifacts including architectural components
Partners with the GPS IS Service Owner managing GSCS/ GSDA/ GSARA (AE Intake & Expedited Reporting, Medical Coding & Terminology Management, Safety Assessment and Risk Management, Periodic Reporting), to drive innovation of the GPS systems enabling business to optimize their processes, efficiency and effectiveness
Lead the conversations with architects, vendors and other stakeholders to build and maintain solutions in the GPS&L area
With minimal supervision lead multiple projects end-to-end including presenting Business Cases to Executive Management to obtain funding
Collaborate with cross functional IS and business teams and represent GPS&L IS as a Subject Matter Expert
Analyze and explore industry trends and best practices for innovative solutions for GPS&L
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
Master’s degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Information Systems experience
Ability to develop multi-year roadmaps to mature services, deliver software solutions by working in a highly regulated and service oriented environment, strong knowledge and understanding of Information System infrastructure, system design and architecture
In-depth experience in all aspects of SDLC from requirements, design, testing, strong business analysis, data analysis and Change Control process combined with experience developing project charters, statement of work and project financials
Extensive experience working on and leading major programs/projects that involve multiple stakeholders and external vendors and managing end-to-end from initiation to project closure
End to end understanding of Amgen’s global patient safety processes with in-depth working knowledge of Expedited and Periodic Aggregate Safety Reporting using Oracle’s ARGUS safety solution preferred
Extensive experience with analytical, reporting and dashboarding solutions (ETL, DWH, data marts, Cognos, Tableau, Spotfire or similar), writing SQL queries and developing functions/packages with PL/SQL
High learning agility, problem solving skills and attention to details
Excellent presentation skills catering to a variety of audiences including management and technical teams
