POSITION TITLE: Poultry Category Marketing Manager CIS
Role overviewWorks closely with the Head of Marketing CEE & CIS and team to provide input into the Poultry Marketing strategies for Elanco Animal Health Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Accountable for the performance of the plans for the Poultry category including its key pharmaceutical and vaccine brands.
The Category Manager will be employed in the development and execution of the marketing plans for Poultry specific brands as assigned to ensure alignment to the both categories’ and business objectives. The role interacts with key suppliers, including agencies and sit on multiple internal and external cross functional teams. As part of the EMEA Marketing organization collaboration will be required with the European Poultry Marketing Managers to provide input to the Regional Marketing strategy.
Day to day responsibilitiesExecution of Country Affiliate Category and Brand Planning:
  • Works closely with marketing leadership to give input into Annual Marketing Plan. Lead marketing planning for the Poultry assigned brands.
  • Execute the roll out of county Marketing Campaigns to achieve Sales Targets in line with specific objectives as identified in the annual Category Plans.
  • Lead and develop supportive programs and projects to meet marketing objectives. Responsible for deliverables and execution of such programs.
  • Build metrics to track success and identify gaps versus planned outcomes.
Coordination of the production and supply of all support material:
  • Supply marketing communications (marcoms) items, such as leaflets, posters, detailers and merchandise aligned with Global and Regional platforms and directions (Global and Regional brands). Design and supply items for local brands where and when required.
  • Working closely with internal personnel and external agencies involved in the production and final approval of all artwork, and to ensure compliance with industry and internal organizational regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Development and Regulatory Departments to ensure that Finished Goods meet all legal requirements in terms of packaging, text, and insert leaflets. Liaising and coordinating with Artwork departments in affiliate, Regional and Global hubs.
Expenditure, Production & Sales Forecasting:
  • Budgetary Management: Brands are supported by an Advertising and Promotions (A&P) budget, used to fund campaigns and promotions. It is the responsibility of the Marketing Manager to manage this budget, to ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
  • Partner with Business Unit, Technical Operations, Regulatory and Customer Services to ensure sufficient product stock (by SKU) available to meet Sales Targets, at the same time meeting Inventory objectives.
Customer Centricity:
  • Analyzes needs and requirements by interacting with customers, consumers, and sales teams, determining appropriate market research to determine customer needs and to identify the competitive pricing.
  • Spends time in the field as needed to support Sales teams, meeting customers and consumers and gathering feedback on a first-hand basis.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer and customer needs
  • Manage brand and product pricing, exposure and price control.

Develop and maintain business relationships with key business partners
  • Build positive relationships with relevant external bodies, such as KOLs, advertising agencies, key vendors etc.
  • Promote the Elanco brand internally and externally to build engagement.

Required skills, experience and education


Degree level either life science or business qualification. MBA or professional marketing qualification is desirable.

3+years marketing experience

Required Skills

· Empathy and passion for the veterinary animal health business

· Poultry Animal Health and or Agri-science experience

· Demonstrable passion for marketing

· Positive attitude and fit with Elanco cultural pillars

· Demonstrated experience in working effectively with teams and various functional areas such as research, development, marketing services, finance, customer service, and business development.

· A results driven team player able to work in and with a proactive team with a high degree of customer focus

· Excellent organizational and implementation skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Russian and English

· Ability to influence and deliver results through others

· Personal accountability and strong drive for execution

· Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.

· Mastery of and compliance with project approval requirements, Lilly/Elanco policies and procedures

Preferred skills experience and education

· Fluency in other CIS languages would be a positive, but not essential

· A focus on and understanding of the customer with developed insights of customer value requirements and to be able to articulate these requirements into meaningful brand product positions

· An understanding of multiple channel (vet, wholesaler, distributor, pharmacy) marketing environments would be advantageous
