The research topic is part of the broader concept of biorefinery in which biobased resources are used for recovery of chemicals in addition to energy. As part of the research, five different innovative processes that can be used to retrieve nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) will be mapped. The mass flow analysis will determine the fate of each mineral throughout the refinery process, resulting in which types of renewable mineral fertiliser products.
