Here, everyone matters and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission.  As a Pharmacoepidemiologist, you will be empowered to provide leadership to and work with Takeda teams for assigned products and therapeutic area, by devising and proposing epidemiologic strategies and observational studies to support developmental and marketed products and disease areas of interest.  A typical day will include:   


The role objective is to contribute to the design, conduct, and analyse epidemiological studies for research assignments.  The following are key elements of position objectives:
  • Undertake epidemiological studies including:  
    • Research design and planning of observational
    • Statistical analysis and interpretation of results
    • Review and critical analysis of epidemiological literature


    • Design, implement, and analyze observational studies
    • Provide technical expertise and input on observational research
    • Provide epidemiologic support to assigned project teams, including detailed knowledge on epidemiology of target diseases, published literature on topics of interest, and data sources suitable for epidemiologic studies
    • Input into regulatory documentssuch as Risk Management Plans


  • Ph.D. in Epidemiology required. 
  • Master In Public Health or similar would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated knowledge of epidemiology principles, biostatistics and observational study design and analysis
  • Identify the need for observational approaches to population-based research  in support of drug development and marketed products
  • Ability to provide and convey scientific arguments with senior staff and external technical experts
  • Ability to obtain regulatory opinions, assimilate data effectively, define regulatory strategies and communicate with regulatory agencies in meetings as required
  • Ability to understand the regulatory challenges for Takeda products in terms of pro-active generation of data to support the positive balance of benefit to risk
  • Excellent scientific writing, technical skills
  • Excellent scientific network and reputation beyond Takeda
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines
