Partnership Developer 
  • We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Partnership Developer  to participate in our ongoing success as a profitable, fast-growing, socially responsible company dedicated to Global Health. 
  • In this strategic business development role, you will identify, initiate contact, and negotiate agreements with pharmaceutical companies and health organizations to create new large-scale, long-term, multi-project partnerships.   



Responsibilities  
  • Identify and research potential commercial partners that correspond to company s business development strategy  
    • Conduct in-depth research to understand the strategic needs of potential commercial partners 
    • Gain a thorough understanding of the business operations, organizational culture, history, etc. of potential commercial partners 
    • Determine therapeutic areas where our company and potential commercial partner could operate effectively together   
  • Identify and research potential non-profit organizations, research institutes and / or foundations for non-commercial projects  
    • Conduct in-depth research to understand interest areas, priorities and funding strategies of potential non-commercial partners 
    • Gain a thorough understanding of past projects, organizational culture, history, etc. of potential non-commercial partners 
    • Determine therapeutic areas where our company and potential non-commercial partner could operate effectively together   
  • Initiate contact and discussions with potential partners  
    • Identify the key decision makers of potential partners to prepare contact and discussions 
    • Prepare presentations focusing on mutual benefits of a long-term partnership 
    • Organize face-to-face discussions, ensuring participation of key decision makers and subject matter experts from our company  and the potential partner 
    • Follow up to respond to questions / requests, to provide further information, and to organize additional teleconferences / meetings to continue partnership development discussions   
  • Negotiate agreements with potential commercial partners  
    • Participate with cross-functional team in preparation of term sheets and agreements based on previous discussions with potential partners 
    • Follow up with team to ensure timely progress in preparation of documents 
    • Present term sheets and agreements to partners and negotiate potential changes   
  • Prepare project proposals to non-commercial partners  
    • Participate with cross-functional team to prepare agreements for collaboration and funding proposals 
    • Follow up with team to ensure timely progress in preparation of documents 
    • Submit collaboration agreements and funding requests and negotiate potential changes   
  • Transition new partnership to Alliance Manager and development project teams  
    • Provide in-depth information about partner 
    • Participate in early work planning discussions with Alliance Manager and development project teams 
    • Serve as ongoing liaison to teams across the company to enable the realization of further customer opportunities and to maximize customer satisfaction    
  


Experience / Education
 
  • Scientific Degree (MSc, MD, PharmD or PhD) 
  • Business degree (MBA) a plus 
  • Minimum ten years experience in business development, with proven success in selling complex products and/or services 
  • Strong track record in winning new business from large pharmaceutical companies and growing established revenue streams

  • Excellent understanding of drug development phases and the processes involved 
  • Strong understanding of how mid-size/big pharma/generics companies develop and market drugs 
  • Knowledge of new therapeutic entities, lifecycle management and value-based medicine 
  • Understanding of the relationship between the Regulator and the Payer to ensure that the right drug is available for the right patient  
  

Organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Ability to develop and track complex negotiations 
  • Ability to work on several items simultaneously 
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve issues on a daily basis 
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple project teams in a matrixed environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines  
  

Language and Computer 
  • Fluency in English required 
  • Strong English writing skills to prepare documents in English 
  • Proficiency in MicroSoft Office, internet and email usage
