|The purpose of this role is to ensure that packaging for all Elanco products managed through the Clinton plant site is done in a safe, efficient manner in full regulatory compliance. The packaging engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining packaging materials for existing and new products. The packaging engineer is responsible for supporting site Operations for process improvements on packaging equipment and materials. |
Liaison with quality, regulatory, purchasing, suppliers, PPM and operations.
Identify opportunities to improve cost, cycle time, and compliance.
Participate in the identification and selection of new suppliers.
Site owner for all packaging-related issues.
Develop and maintain packaging materials specifications, including dieline templates and packaging instructions.
Support the qualification and validation of packaging equipment and processes at Clinton site for packaging Elanco products.
Support key projects through testing and evaluating new or modified packaging components or preparing packaging line validation protocols, as required.
Understand and apply packaging requirements and regulations.
Understand and assist in the implementation of the Global Quality Standards.
Complete packaging reporting for annual product reviews, and regulatory commitment documents.
Understand the packaging requirements for international shipments, including dangerous goods and UN certification
Lead investigations on packaging complaints.
Originate change controls for packaging-related projects or activities.
Technical representative and investigator for packaging deviations and ensures deviations and complaints are investigated thoroughly to ensure that a corrective action is consistent with the root cause analysis.
Continuous Improvement Activities
Assist in improvement of safe working conditions by identifying hazardous processes or conditions.
Assist in improvement projects for packaging operations.

2 years experience in Package Engineering

Proficiency with computer systems, including but not limited to BLUE, Regulus, Ensur, SAP, Microsoft Office products, Trackwise, etc
