The Opportunity:

An Ortho Care Laboratory Specialist is a key member of the local account manangement team working with the  Technical Solutions and Sales teams. Installs and supports equipment and products for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, ensuring a high level of customer focus.


Schedules own workload, support visits within territory to  minimise system down time and maintain high level of customer satisfaction


Is the key technical contact point on all aspects concerning the application of trouble shooting of instruments software or hardware issues, as well as the training requirements for the customers.

Completes all  regulatory and general administration to a high standard.   


The Responsibilities:

The Technical Solutions Specialist is responsible for supporting all systems to the designated product performance metrics, for meeting all designated Customer Satisfaction goals and equally important is adherence to all governmental regulations/requirements as well as our own internal Compliance and Quality System following Ortho complaint handling procedures relative to complaint identification, documentation, resolution, and escalation. Contributes to opportunities for control of expenditure and revenue


  • Responds to and schedules customer requests for support. Determines cause and effects implements corrective action
  • Schedules and performs Preventative maintenance 
  • Installation, Commissioning and Customer Training
  • Sales Support / Demos / Presentations
  • Stays current with all administrative responsibilites, updates, notifications and training courses
  • Responsible for maintaining & managing all assigned company assets that may include but are not limited to :tools, parts inventory, company vehicle, computer and accessories


The Individual:

  • Possess appropriate technical knowledge to effectively perform required job function demonstrating a high level of expertise in manual and automated diagnostic equipment.
  • Generally at least 3 years experience in a senior field support role where the individual has demonstrated leadership qualities and excellent technical competence.
  • The qualifications are most typically, but not exclusively, associated with a HND or equivalent experience together with recognised professional qualification e.g FIBMS, DMLM, MCB etc.
  • A full drivers licence is essential.
