DuPont Engineering Polymers is currently seeking a Molding Technician to work at its manufacturing site located in Valley View, Ohio. The site is located near Interstate 77, Interstate 480, and the Ohio Turnpike, south of Cleveland. The facility employs about 135 people and manufactures compression molded, close tolerance-machined composite parts for aerospace and specialty industrial applications. Our customers include the major commercial and military aircraft engine manufacturers around the world.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to:

• Have mechanical abilities to support moving, disassembly, cleaning, and troubleshooting molds and components safely and methodically. Have knowledge, skills, and tools to effectively and efficiently disassemble, clean, troubleshoot, repair, measure, and assemble active molds.
• Use hand tools
• Read diagrams, use dial gages, and read meters
• Communicate verbally and compile information
• Actively identify opportunities for process improvements
• Support product evaluations, along with improvement efforts for new parts
The molding associate is responsible for many labor-intensive tasks. They range from sorting the product by weight increments, (usually seated part weighing .02 grams – 12.0 grams) using tooling that weighs up to 110 lbs., working in the controlled area, and set up and operation of programmable Transfer Mold Presses.
The molding associate will regularly audit processes (to assure compliance with quality practices and work instructions throughout the facility) and will facilitate and support the DuPont Valley View (DVV) Internal Audit Process. Also, as a molding associate, the individual will be required to participate in customer audits and will be required to complete the Certified Operator Program (COP), DVV’s intensive, skills-based validation and training program.
Operational duties include monitoring production processes and controlling product processes, obtaining samples, and loading products. As mentioned above, molding associates must be willing and able to operate mobile transport equipment.
Associates will be required to work in DVV’s Controlled Area. These individuals should be prepared daily to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) upon request and must be willing to work with hazardous materials while operating multiple pieces of impregnation equipment.
Molding associates must also follow start up and shutdown procedures for machinery and heavy equipment. All environmental and occupational health requirements must be met in the process.
Molding associates will continuously monitor product quality; be expected to troubleshoot process problems and control product for non-conformances; be required to participate in housekeeping and training activities. Also, Functional Team (Group of people with different functional specialties or multidisciplinary skills, responsible for carrying out all phases of a program or project from start to finish.) participation is a requirement.
Associates will work with the Quality Department to facilitate corrective and preventive action related to supplier quality problems and source inspection issues. In the process, molding associates will issue stop tags/hold tags where conditions warrant.
Maintain Quality metrics, to facilitate positive, proactive operational change. Associates may be required to analyze non-conformance data, escapes, and other sources of data as well as identify continuous improvement opportunities that help drive the DVV Continuous Improvement plan, when appropriate.
Finally, molding associates will be expected to co-facilitate Quality Improvement Teams and other Quality-focused meetings, assuring timely completion of identified action items. These associates are required to support DVV’s Quality Council with analysis of issues and recommendations for corrective and preventive measures.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be flexible, adaptable, dependable, reliable and able to adjust to various challenges (such as changes to schedule, work environment, materials, and tooling). Molding associates must possess solid communication skills (i.e., oral, written, and listening) and should be detailed oriented and have good organizational skills. Associates must be self-motivated, able to work independently or in a group environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and must be proficient in basic math.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
