The Commercial Operations team supports Merck subsidiaries across Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa in commercializing Merck s portfolio of innovative medicines and vaccines. The team s support ranges from commercial strategy, to marketing and sales excellence, to business analytics, to trade channel and supply chain management.

The Summer Intern will support the Head of the Commercial Operations team and will be responsible for engaging in and managing 2-3 projects associated with the team s support to countries, most likely in the areas of local go to market strategy, portfolio management (resource allocation), and commercial innovation. The Summer Intern will collaborate with various members of the Commercial Operations team, each of which is a thought leader in his / her field, and have exposure to the work cultures and business environments of various countries. Some travel may be required.




Must be a full time student who has completed at least 3 years of coursework towards a Bachelor s degree in Economics, Political Science, Finance, Health Care Policy, or related fields.


Intern candidates must have a strong work ethic and be willing to work independently.

The ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and tasks and to advance projects with an appropriate level of supervision.

Have strong written and communications skills.

Good collaboration skills across diverse groups.

Analytical skills with the ability to translate insights / findings into recommendations.

Students should be returning to school in the Fall of 2017.

Must be available for a minimum of 11-12 weeks during the summer months June through August 2017.
