Project Description

  • We have an exciting opportunity for a driven, experienced Marketer within the Pharma sector to join the Urology team as a Marketing Manager to develop, implement and evaluate marketing strategies for products and designated therapy area to achieve optimal product market share.
  • You will be innovative and forward thinking and be driven to improve efficiencies within marketing, and cross-functionally as appropriate.
  • You will be responsible for the development and implementation of tactical plans to achieve products sales targets within allocated budget. 
  • To make appropriate plans for the successful launch of pipeline products within the area of responsibility. 
  • You will effectively coach and develop and manage a marketing team consisting of senior/product managers, marketing assistants, professional relations manager and others.
  • Our company is the Sales & Marketing affiliate for the UK market. 

Key responsibilities
  • Embed Compliance Culture across all Regions of the business ensuring Integrity in Action is actively applied in all initiatives.  
  • Ensure Sales and Marketing Functions strictly adopt a culture of ethics and compliance; leading by example and appropriately challenging non-compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies relating to healthcare compliance standards and interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Healthcare Organisations (HCOs) and Patient Organisations (POs).

Marketing Strategy
  • Deliver robust marketing strategies for products within designated therapy areas which deliver sales and profitability targets.  
  • To ensure robust tactical product implementation plans are developed in conjunction with relevant internal stakeholders, and are continually reviewed and updated when necessary.
  • Responsible for setting the product strategies for the field-force, and ensure effective implementation and monitoring.
  • Contribute to the European product marketing strategies as part of the European brand team. 
  • Contribute to the European planning process in terms of MTP and Business Reviews on a regular basis and to ensure that product strategies are in line.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for current and future/new products through modelling, forecasting and risk analysis, both in terms of development and/or acquisitions.

Management and Collaboration
  • Establish and build effective and collaborative networks with peer group including DSMs, Medical Advisers, European Marketing and other European personnel.  
  • Effectively manage and coach a team of Senior/ Product Managers, Professional Relations Manager, and Senior/Marketing Assistant, including selecting, developing and performance managing staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Liaise will all relevant parties (Sales, Commercial, Medical etc. ) to support the sales and marketing strategies for the products`
  • To provide a mentoring role for the Marketing Manager when relevant.
  • Continuously develop own therapeutic and market expertise in designated therapy area and to lead and support the development of marketers and marketing excellence across APL.

Skills & Experience Required  
  • Pharma sector experience with strong customer focus; in multi-disciplinary, matrix and cross-cultural settings.   
  • Extensive experience in marketing including Group/Senior Product Manager position and Sales Representative experience 
  • Evidence of operating successfully in previous Marketing Manager positions 
  • Track record of successfully launching/growing pharmaceutical brands within the UK market 
  • Successful record of selling brands as a sales/hospital/NHS representative and progress achievement year on year 
  • Detailed knowledge of NHS policies, structures and processes, and potential impact upon company products and programmes 
  • Familiarity with data sources to monitor effectiveness and product strategies 
  • Excellent analytical skills; comfortable working with and interpreting data, trends etc. 
  • Marketing degree and/or health-related degree and professional marketing qualification.   
  • Track record of successfully launching/growing pharmaceutical brands within the UK market 
  • Specialist marketing expertise; proven track record of developing and implementing strategic marketing plans in designated therapy areas (ideally Urology). 
  • Track-record of leading planning process with excellent organisational and collaboration skills. 
  • ABPI Qualified  and/or proven compliance expertise ; to understand and comply with industry laws and relevant regulations. 
  • Coaching and collaboration skills to interact with all levels of personnel to achieve shared goals. 
  • Demonstrable examples of ability to develop, coach and enable high performance teams and proactively promote best practice and knowledge sharing. 
  • Proven ability to influence, (appropriately) challenge and engage diverse senior stakeholders.
