Serving as the Regional Marketing Director, Cardiology & Nephrology Franchises, this Marketing Director will be responsible for the marketing leadership of Amgen’s Cardiology and Nephrology franchises in the Intercontinental Region. Key focus will be in ensuring we maximize the potential of Repatha in the IC region (including supporting launch in many second wave markets). This will encompass the development of regional brand strategies, and the delivery of innovative marketing programs that can be leveraged across the region to drive performance and prepare affiliates to launch key pipeline assets.

Key responsibilities include:
• Lead the regional cross functional launch readiness teams for pipeline products including managing the pipeline forecasts, developing regional brand strategies, defining critical success factors, delivering regional launch plans
• Track the stages of launch preparation to ensure each product achieves key launch milestones. Provide correction plan to resolve issues that may slow down development and decision making
• Collaborate with Global Marketing Teams to represent the regional needs and ensure regional team acts as liaison for core information to non-archetype countries
• Lead the regional brand planning process including the development of regional brands plans articulating brand strategy, critical success factors and tactical programs
• Critically assess and support the country teams in planning and execution of annual brand plans diagnosing any brand issues and implementing corrective actions to address performance
• Drive integrated cross functional partnership across the franchise with Medical and Access to deliver innovative industry leading programs that can be leveraged across the countries to drive brand performance
• Develop regional promotional materials including master detail aides, message scripts, congresses, etc.
• Effectively recommend and manage the regional brand budget including developing business cases for investment projects
• Work with BAI and affiliates to support robust forecasts for the pipeline and in line brands during planning and budget cycles
• Engage with stakeholders internally and externally to share best practices across franchise and countries
• Where appropriate, act as delegate to Regional Executive Director General Medicine on commercial matters (Regional Management Team) and take leadership in specific regional projects to improve effectiveness of the regional marketing team and develop marketing capabilities across the region

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 4 years of Marketing
• Master’s degree and 7 years of Marketing
• Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of Marketing

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in commercial roles in the biopharmaceutical industry (i.e. marketing, sales, value & access)
• Highly motivated team-oriented player with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle/manage projects in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment
• Brand leadership experience in both affiliate and region/global level (i.e. leading cross-functional team)
• Documented marketing management track record of success in launching products, and in gaining or maintaining market leadership position post launch
• Documented experience in leading and execution of promotional programs to drive brand performance
• Demonstrated ability in core marketing skills (segmentation, positioning, key messages, branding)
• Sales experience within the pharmaceutical industry (ideally sales leadership)
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across different functions
• Ability to work effectively in an international and multi-cultural environment
• Ability to critically assess issues, champion ideas, take decisions and focus on results
• Management skills – planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution
• Excellent written, analytical and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze a business problem and develop an appropriate strategy
• Strong business judgment and emotional intelligence
• Prior experience in cardiovascular
