Amgen’s bone health business in the US is focused on the needs of osteoporosis patients. Significantly, more than 1 out of 2 patients who are at high risk of fracture are untreated in the US. This Director role reports to the US Bone Health Executive Director and will provide leadership for market growth of the osteoporosis category. This role is expected to have a significant impact on the near- and long-term success of our Bone Health portfolio, with special emphasis on the opportunities in the consumer and patient market. Our bone health business is a strategically important category for the US commercial organization and a key growth driver for Amgen globally.

Primary responsibilities of this role include:
Assess osteoporosis market dynamics within the US. Direct and participate in market research to ensure the generation of patient-centric insights
Translate customer insights into core strategies that will enable osteoporosis patients at risk of fracture to be treated and creation of tactical plan
Coordinate and collaborate on plans with public relations and advocacy teams to ensure a holistic approach to the needs of the marketplace
Lead flawless implementation of tactics across multiple marketing levers
Employ fluency and sophistication in analytics to ensure metrics/measurement of activities that deliver desired results
Lead agency of record partners, including selection, onboarding and ongoing project management
Lead, manage, and oversee implementation of media activities across all channels, including TV, print, digital, and point of care
Collaborate and align with key stakeholders across market research, customer engagement, IS/IT teams and global marketing
Lead a team of direct reports to operationalize and execute key growth initiatives

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience
• Master’s degree and 7 years of marketing experience
• Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of marketing experience, including 5+ years in a consumer marketing function
Strategic mindset with experience in brand planning frameworks and concepts
Experience working at the category level with experience in market development and/or a category in which the marketing efforts directly shifted the category dynamics
Knowledge of and experience in working with the promotions legal/regulatory environment
Previous experience working with multiple promotional channels
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
A success track record producing business results
Experience managing external partners such as agencies
Record of demonstrating excellent organizational skills
Excellent written, verbal and communication and presentation skills
Impeccable ethics and integrity
