About the department
  • You will be part of the Market Access & Public Affairs department reporting to the Portugal MAPA Director.


The position
As Market Access & Public Affairs Professional your main responsibilities will be:
  • Develop Pricing and Access strategies and activities for all portfolio of company and give support to the Market Access Director and Field Market Access;
  • Develop value communication tools to national & regional stakeholders;
  • Design & execute company Public Affairs strategy with the aim of influencing regional and national governmental trends & policies which might impact diabetes, haemophilia & obesity care;
  • Build and increase awareness for the need of "Changing Diabetes" & Changing Haemophilia ;
  • Support external communication locally.


Key accountabilities
  • Develop value communication tools to improve national & regional access;
  • Support national access activities;
  • Coordinate and execute the Public Affairs Plan at regional and national level, aligned with the company strategy & objectives;
  • Develop strategies and activities with Patients Associations to develop unmet need awareness and improve patients quality of life;
  • Support institutional external communication activities and be the partner of local communication agency;
  • Guarantee national & regional Cross Functional Collaboration with rest of functions (field & back office).


Main accountabilities
  • Collaborate to develop value proposition aligned with marketing portfolio strategy in order to avoid regional/local access restrictions to the products; 
  • Develop value communication tools to improve national & regional access aligned with value proposition and Regional Sales Plan;  
  • Develop tools to contribute to minimize the reimbursement barriers in order to ensure patients with appropriate treatment and optimal access to company products addressing payer objections to the products prescription;
  • Support to development of national pricing and reimbursement strategies and activities for all company portfolio;
  • Shaping of regional/national policy makers and relevant stakeholders in order to identify key players in the diabetes/haemophilia/obesity regulation process;
  • Support development of HEOR projects using local data to generate publications;
  • Collaborate in the development of the local value dossier and update it periodically;
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends in Market Access area;
  • Planning and execution of the Public Affairs Plan;
  • Create and maintain a strong relationship with Patient Advocacy Groups or Patients Associations and other relevant stakeholders identifying collaboration opportunities for changing diabetes and haemophilia at national & regional level;
  • Coordinate the development of national & regional Changing Diabetes and Changing Haemophilia  programmes pointing on the need of improve diabetes and Haemophilia burden;
  • Follow up to the national diabetes strategy as well as the regional diabetes plans in order to identify opportunities for public-private partnership to change diabetes & haemophilia at regional and national level;
  • Give support to local external communication strategy and activities  medical and lay media;
  • Manage local communication agency;
  • Manage customer contacts;
  • Work according to Business Ethics procedures;


Qualifications
Education requirements | 
  • Min. bachelor degree, preferably in health sciences or economy and MBA
  • Deep knowledge of Portuguese Healthcare System and its regulation
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English


Work experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Market Access, Public Affairs area and/or external communication area for pharmaceutical companies
  • In depth knowledge of at least one of the therapeutic areas of our company
