Job Type : Full Time Career Level : Experienced (Non-Manager) Education : Bachelor's Degree Location : Hopkinton MA US Job Description : Summary PerkinElmer is searching for a talented manufacturing process engineer who will be primarily responsible for the process support of Hopkinton’s microfluidics chip fabrication line for DNA, RNA, and protein separation.  The process engineer is responsible for and assists with developing, installing, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. The position will involve supporting equipment set-up and qualification; running designed experiments for process optimization; implementing and monitoring production line process controls; as well as creating and releasing pertinent documentation (e.g. Engineering Change Orders, Bills-of-Material, and Operating Procedures).  The person will be a key resource for any manufacturing problem resolution.  The person will be working in a team based project environment, interacting with peers (equipment maintenance, process engineering, QC testing) and communicating across disciplines.  The person must be comfortable in a clean room environment.  Responsibilities: Provide engineering support to microfluidics manufacturing fab Support production delivery and revenue goals Evaluate the manufacturing process looking to implement process improvements and to reduce sources of waste Collect and analyze process data, produce summary reports to identify yield improvements Utilize Root Cause Analysis methods to problem solve and resolve manufacturing/process issues,  increase equipment reliability or process capability, and improve product quality Train and certify production technicians Apply safety procedures across the Fab  Job Requirements : Qualifications: B.S. degree in Engineering or other related technical field desirable 3-7 years hands on experience in a manufacturing environment Solid knowledge of cleanroom processing & manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in medical device manufacturing or assembly Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Experience supporting products from development to production Working knowledge of advanced metrology equipment Knowledge of DOE, SPC, and ISO9001 Proven project management skills with an ability to plan and execute projects on tight schedule Self-motivated and able to work independently with a ‘can do’ attitude Good analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail Leadership ability to lead change through influence Must be able to work safely and properly using protective equipment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma and continuous improvement tools preferred Database software knowledge (Eyelit) a plus General knowledge of glass chemistry and batch operations a plus
