Summary of job scope:

Analyze market data and deliver customer insights to assist regional and
country marketing teams to shape franchise strategies and make decisions to
deliver organizational objectives.

Major Accountabilities:

- Deliver trend analysis using available sources (IMS, other industry
audits, distributor data, govt. statistics) to inform market environment
and competitive landscape

- Educate brand teams on market data interpretation and
utilization. Conduct relevant training
including IMS dashboard/standard reports and other secondary data
supporting tools (e.g. One View, Distributor’s dataset, etc.), in Philippines
and Thailand to support local reporting needs. Continue to look for improvement and
synergy opportunities /standardizations in the reporting process

- Represent Philippines and Thailand as the market research lead for
global and regional market research related initiatives

- Disseminate global/regional research insights for new product
conducted in Philippines and Thailand to local brand teams

- Work with country brand team to understand their issues and
opportunities, hence information needs, in order to develop
primary/secondary research work plan to support priority franchises in both
Philippines and Thailand

- Implement and oversee market research studies (for newly launched
and priority franchises) and translation of local language materials
where appropriate

- Collaborate with local procurement to manage market research budget
and suppliers, including sourcing secondary data and ensure data quality.
Oversight and tracking of market research-related payments and spending

- Provide data support to the PP/LROP process, focusing on priority

- Provide expert input to region on business development analysis

- Make presentations to CLT and MDs when needed

- Develop innovative market research methodology where appropriate

- Cultivate data driven decision mindset in organization

Organizational Environment

MR&A team objectives are to provide marketing and sales support to the
franchise and sales teams to maximize business results. The Analyst has to work
independently with country brand and commercial support teams to ensure critical market information is sourced
and utilized to support business decisions.

counterpart to share findings, protocols and input to global MR market
research initiatives

to share market insights, learnings and best practices

- External
suppliers to ensure data quality, negotiate data purchase and services
along with procurement



· Preferably
diploma/degree in quantitative analyses, market research or related disciplines

Experience/Technical Skills:

Strong analytical abilities

Problem Solving

Strategic Thinking

Planning and Organising

Broad knowledge of secondary sources and statistics

Hands on experience and fluent with basic analytic tool (e.g. Excel,
SpotFire, SPSS, etc.)

Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills

Good command of English to support two countries and collaborate with
other country/regional teams

Subject Matter Expert: work experience as market research analyst in
Pharmaceutical Industry and/or research supplier

Knowledge in data management and information technology solutions

Knowledge in franchise, sales and marketing planning (Merck Marketing
process knowledge is strongly desirable)

Strong knowledge of secondary data sources available at Merck at all
levels of the organization

Working knowledge about IMS audits, its methodology and application is a
definite advantage
