Elanco is establishing a new Business Unit to expand the access to and availability of Elanco's innovative Animal medicine and wellness products worldwide. Our products are, and will be, distributed in multiple channels.
The Alliance manager is responsible for leading and coordinating interaction and business opportunity development with key Alliance partners. The successful individual will manage the new business unit alliances globally; leading and facilitating governance meetings, negotiating and managing alliance partner contracts, managing disputes, identifying opportunities and providing constructive feedback to keep the alliance healthy.
Identify and evaluate alliance opportunities for Elanco globally
Lead and coordinating interaction and business opportunity development with key Elanco partners.
Lead and drive alliance partner strategy
Be the advocate for alliances in the Elanco business
Manage alliance partners to maximize Elanco growth and profitability
Bachelor s Degree
5 years in either sales/marketing role with at least 1 year experience in Business development / Joint venture / alliance management

Strong strategic thinking
Experience working in an alliance or similar environment
Deep expertise in the commercial development in the Animal Health space
Demonstrated ability to take on challenges and find solutions, regardless of having direct accountability/reporting responsibility (i.e., lead by influence)
Highly developed analytical skills a strong mix of financial, development, commercial
Excellent Judgment regarding the how , what , and when of addressing alliance partners and key stakeholders with sensitive issues
Public Speaking must be able to address and persuade key stakeholders to make decisions and follow a set course of action
Excellent writing and communication skills the ability to distill complex ideas down to a few pages of written material to fuel senior level decision making (experience writing policy committee presentations a plus)
Ability to work across cultures both corporate and national cultural boundaries
Demonstrated comfort level working with ambiguous data
Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperate and collaborate with all levels of an organization
Highly developed meeting facilitation skills
Significant mediation skills for group or individual interactions
Strong financial experience
