The Associate–Learning & Development (L&D) Programs/Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) is responsible for the creation, coordination, and implementation of learning solutions and SOPs across the assigned business area/function. The Associate–L&D Programs/SOP is also responsible for training and learning projects identified as fulfilling the learning capability and competency gaps in the assigned business area/function. Additionally, the Associate–L&D Programs/SOP is responsible for program quality management, target audience identification, and instructor identification as needed. The Associate–L&D Programs/SOP monitors process, progress, and results, and designs feedback loops against measured goals. The Associate–L&D Programs/SOP should anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks, interface with Lilly’s learning services supplier, and integrate new business processes where necessary for learning portfolio success. The Associate–L&D Programs/SOP ensures the successful quality delivery of projects through the Lilly learning services supplier business process. The Associate–L&D Programs/SOP provides support to ensure personnel are qualified and capable, which includes personnel fulfilling compliance requirements and continually increasing their contribution to the business.
This position supports the Lilly Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing site. Support for the Devices business areas may also be assigned as part of this role.
L&D/SOP Portfolio Management
Identify, analyze, and determine solutions regarding performance gaps.
Define requirements for personnel qualification in assigned business area/function; ensure implementation and ongoing maintenance.
Create, revise, and implement SOPs, training, and related documents, ensuring all documents are well written, usable/executable, and compliant with Corporate and Local policies and procedures.
Facilitate the review/approval process (including meetings) required to review, reconcile and resolve SOP and related document issues. Ensure appropriate linkages with Team Leader-L&D, business area/function L&D governance for portfolio management.
Evaluate effectiveness of existing and planned learning interventions/SOPs and share with Team Leader-L&D.
Evaluate human errors in business units and determine appropriate human error reduction interventions.
Collaborate/participate in Network/Functional initiatives as identified by Team Leader-L&D.
Secure and sustain business sponsorship and define ongoing ownership for new/revised materials.
Monitor learning budget for projects within assigned business area/function.
Create initial project charters with defined scope documents and statements of work, appropriately leveraging Lilly’s learning services supplier for outsourced work to achieve Lilly business objectives.
Create, review and oversee execution of implementation plan(s).
Participate on project teams; lead assigned projects.
Monitor and communicate program/portfolio status to key business partners.
Anticipate and resolve project/program issues; escalating as appropriate.
Oversee the portfolio of projects to ensure the on-time, on-budget creation of deliverables that meet quality standards, follow instructional design principles, are approved by appropriate personnel, and meet the needs of the business.
Drive quality standards through review of project documents, design, deliverables, final learning content and evaluation data.
Stay abreast of the breadth of learning solutions to guide business partners to the most effective learning methods, solutions and outcomes.
Benchmark cross functionally within Lilly as appropriate, seeking sharing and replication opportunities.
Establish strong relationship with Supplier and Lilly Service Manager to align on portfolio of projects and services and ensure seamless quality of deliverables.
Influence procedure owners and content experts so that procedure improvements can be made.
Conduct usability testing as required.
Share business metrics, interpretations, and solutions with Team Leader-L&D, business partners/process teams.
Participate regularly in area/function project and process teams.
Analyze/understand the assigned business area/function, including business goals, job titles and descriptions, key duties, and responsibilities.
Monitor client satisfaction of learning program implementation. Share results with Team Leader-L&D and make recommendations.
Seek improvement opportunities for existing SOPs and training.
Consult across the assigned business area/function and the Lilly learning community to ensure training plans align with business plan, strategic direction, and compliance and ethics.
Partner with supplier to communicate project and program status.
Partner with supplier and collaborate on development of evaluation plans to measure the practical effectiveness of learning.
Curriculum Architecture and Assignment
Create and maintain duty-aligned curricula with business partners and support curricula owners in the business.
Partner with Learning Data and Process personnel and/or Supplier for the effective and timely implementation of learning interventions, considering change impact on current population of (trained) learners and future/new learners.
Identify target audience for specific learning intervention.
Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of target audience definitions for courses owned by assigned business area/function in the Learning Management System (LMS).
Troubleshoot curriculum architecture and assignment issues in collaboration with supplier and Learning & Data Process personnel as needed.
Implement centrally-developed process improvements in local area.
Instructor Delivery (if internal)
Ensure internal instructor/facilitator qualification process is executed.

Experience in business area/function as well as knowledge of companion tools used to execute broader business processes (such as CAPA tools/TrackWise, document repositories/Regulus).
Experience in supplier oversight.

Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to coach others.
Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Certification.
Travel may be required.
8 hour days – Monday – Friday on site is required. Work outside of standard hours may be required.
Applicant will work in various areas within a manufacturing site. Allergens are likely in the manufacturing environment. Mobility requirements and exposure to allergens should be considered when applying for this position.
FDE Only-This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
