Role overview:
  • Drive and lead the execution of the global Frontline Sales Manager strategy and any other commercial capability building program implementation to ensure transfer of skills capabilities to help the organization achieve desired business results (70%)
  • Support the execution of the global Supervisor development strategy and program implementations to include but not limited to, New Supervisor, Experienced Supervisor and Emerging Leader programs within the assigned region (30%)
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Commercial capabilities:
  • Collaborate and consult with global key internal Commercial stakeholders and regional SFE Lead to identify needs and skill gaps to develop Front Line Sales Manager solutions and leadership gaps and interventions to meet business needs.
  • Adapt the learning offering based on how the market is evolving and support organization change for sales through an adequate L&D offering
  • Deliver First Line Sales managers program
  • Ensure roll out, training buy-in and common language around the Consultative Skills (CS) model. Train and keep CS champions on the edge, ensure they train reps appropriately /Ensure appropriate reviews and adjustments are made to facilitate skill and knowledge transfer and behavior change. Provide CS training for launches
  • Ensure state of the art industry onboarding for sales hires
  • Coach and mentor FLMs on sales capabilities directly and/or together with internal/external coaching resources
  • Incorporate best practices and guidance on Elanco Connect use in First Line Manager training syllabus
Leadership capabilities and general (including sales training)
  • Develop short and mid-term strategic learning and communication plan.
  • Provide direction and training certifications to identified regional and affiliate trainers/managers to extend the training reach and maintain global consistency.
  • Manage the relationship, content, execution and contract development with external vendors and consultants.
  • Determine appropriate post training interventions to measure skill implementation and engagement. Establish clear objectives for all workshops and activities to engage the participants and meet the established learning objective.
  • Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to develop and design training solutions and interventions.
  • Determine the appropriate instructional procedures or methods to ensure transfer of learning such as but not limited to group instruction, self-study, lectures, experiential learning and electronic based training.
  • Earn necessary accreditations and/or certifications to facilitate Leadership Development programs, deliver the EMEA Supervisor programs, FLSM programs, and remain current on training and instructional methodologies, including technology advancements.

Required skills, experience and education:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years Animal Health or Pharma industry experience
  • Direct sales management experience
  • Inspirational dynamic/energetic sales leaders
  • Ability to think tactically
  • Proven facilitation skills
  • Is action oriented and can direct work and ensure accountability leading to desired results
  • Communicates effectively and drives engagement
  • Business Acumen and commercially aware: Understands Elanco’s internal and external business drivers and current state. Has strong customer focus.
  • Values differences and instills trust with the ability to adapt to others
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and can adapt to multiple audiences and cultures

  • Location: TBD preferably a convenient location in a hub in Europe allowing easy access to major hubs and location as well as regular interactions with key stakeholders
  • Travel requirements: 25-50%

  • Dotted line to EMEA HR Head, member of the EMEA HRLT
