Laboratory Support Technician II (Temporary) - United States
The Laboratory Support Technician II assists the laboratory staff with a wide range of tasks. The Laboratory Support Technician II will normally work with general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Primary tasks include:
Removes dirty and/or broken glassware from the lab areas.
Washes and dries glassware and distributes to appropriate locations in the laboratories.
Maintains glass washing areas, keeping them clean and organized.
Sterilizes glassware and other items using an autoclave, if required.
Assists analyst with tasks such as gathering materials, labeling glassware, disposing of solutions, etc.
Responsible for keeping lab stations clean, organized, and stocked with supplies. Includes cleaning and water exchange of water baths (sonicators, shakers, and dissolutions).
Removes pharmaceutical waste from the labs.
Effectively performs duties, on schedule, according to procedures and instructions.
Complies with company polices and GMP regulations.
Works the hours necessary to meet commitments.
Maintains productive work ethic.
Secondary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Performs daily Balance Checks for laboratories.
Monitors temperature and humidity of laboratories and chambers; manages and reviews the chart recorders in the laboratories.
Performs monthly checks for expired chemicals and reagents and coordinates timely removal of expired materials.
Performs other related duties, as required.
Essential Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Basic knowledge of GMPs or GLPs is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of a laboratory environment is desired.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and interact with laboratory staff.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong oral communication skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Works well in a team setting.
Supervision Received: Direct
A Laboratory Support Technician II relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals within defines procedures and practices. Seeks management direction for problems with a diverse scope.
